The much-touted Dior Women Fall 2023 Ready-to-Wear-Show is going to be dedicated to India. This is the first time a major European luxury brand is holding an official calendar show in the South Asian country.
It's going to be a star-studded night at the grand historic 'Gateway of India' in Mumbai, which will be turned into a backdrop for one of the most fabulous fashion shows by luxury giant Christian Dior for the unveiling of a new collection for the first time in India on Thursday.
Thai actors Phakphum Romsaithong (Mile) and Nattawin Wattanagitiphat (Apo), who star in the 'KinnPorsche' drama show, will make their India debut as the special guests at the much anticipated Dior Women Fall 2023 Ready-to-Wear-Show.
The duo was in for a surprise after they saw scores of Indian fans standing and cheering them upon their arrival at the airport on Wednesday.
'Game of Thrones' star Maisie Williams, who rocketed to fame playing Arya Stark, has also arrived in India to attend the glitzy Dior fashion show.
She took to her social media and shared a video expressing her excitement ahead of D-Day and flaunting the gifts she received, including a meditation mat.
Bollywood star Freida Pinto is gung-ho about her return to her hometown Mumbai after a three-year hiatus to be a part of the unveiling of the Dior Women Fall 2023 Ready-To-Wear-Show.
The fashion show is a collaboration between Dior’s Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri and the Mumbai-based atelier Chanakya School Of Craft.
Pinto, who was born and raised in Mumbai, hailed Dior in a media statement for highlighting India’s incredible culture, craftsmanship, and textile.
"When fashion brands use their platform to highlight the incredible contribution from other cultures and in this case my own, my Indian culture, it’s an association I cannot afford to not get behind. This is also a statement on how women support women and celebrate each other by making sure everyone’s efforts feel seen," Pinto said.
"As an Indian, this is a moment of immense pride as this will be such a memorable celebration of Indian craftsmanship and textiles. This has already been an incredible year for India in the field of arts and sports and so it’s only fair we add fashion to the list too,” Pinto added.
