The Indian community was deeply insulted after the Twitter handle of Ukraine's Defense Ministry posted a controversial picture of Hindu Goddess Kali, which was widely deemed as outright blasphemy by many Hindu devotees on Twitter.The insulting post was deleted but the “work of art” - as the Ukrainian officials called it - already went viral, with the screenshots of it doing the rounds on social media.Was it cultural ignorance, or simply following the example of Western politicians, whose colonial mindset encourages them to spread similar biased content?

The Indian community was deeply insulted after the Twitter handle of Ukraine's Defense Ministry posted a controversial picture of Hindu Goddess Kali, which was widely deemed as outright blasphemy by many Hindu devotees on Twitter.
The insulting post was deleted but the “work of art” - as the Ukrainian officials called it - already went viral, with the screenshots of it doing the rounds on social media.
Indian journalist Shubhangi Sharma wrote on her Twitter: “This centuries-old obsession with disparaging Goddess Kali Ma continues to run deep in the West. It’s replete with ignorance and bigotry and no matter how woke the new generations get, some malicious fixations will remain deeply entrenched forever”.
