At least 15 of the 50 passengers died and 25 were injured as a result of the accident.
A bus fatally drove off a bridge in Khargone district of India's Madhya Pradesh state on Tuesday morning after the driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.
Emergency service arrived at the scene shortly after authorities and senior police officials. The injured were taken to the district hospital.
Following the accident, Delhi announced financial aid of INR 200,000 ($2,436) from the National Relief Fund to the families of the deceased and INR 50,000 ($609) to those injured.
Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh government also allocated INR 400,000 ($4,871) to the relatives of the victims. The seriously injured passengers will get further compensation of INR 50,000 ($609) and those sustaining minor injuries INR 25,000 ($304), State Home Minister Narottam Mishra announced on Tuesday.

According to local statistics, every year about 150,000 people die in road accidents in India, with 40 percent of them on national highways.
