On Monday, the ISRO launched Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-12 (GSLV-12) carrying Navigation with Indian Constellation-01 (NavIC-01) into orbit that aims to boost India's navigational and monitoring capabilities.
India's highly anticipated moon mission, Chandrayaan-3, is scheduled for takeoff this July, according to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman S. Somanath.
Somanath told Indian media that he was confident about the launch that is scheduled to take place on 12 July.
Chandrayaan-3 is set to be launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, using the advanced Launch Vehicle Mark-III (LVM3). It is a follow-on mission to the second lunar exploration mission, Chandrayaan-2 that was launched on 22 July, 2019, to explore the far side of the moon.

The upcoming lunar mission will involve a state-of-the-art rover, an indigenous lander, and a propulsion module, equipped with scientific payloads specifically designed to conduct experiments on the surface of the moon.
Previously, due to some technical glitch, Chandrayaan-2's rover crash-landed on the moon's surface. However, the orbiter managed to float above the Moon and helped achieve path-breaking new discoveries like detecting the presence of water molecules on the moon
