Incessant rain in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi and several other districts has triggered a warning by the State Meteorological Department.
At least 300 travelers are stuck in Pithoragarh district of India's Uttarakhand state after a landslide washed away roads, blocking highways following incessant rains.
The travelers are reportedly stranded in Dharchula and Gunji areas after 100 meters of the Lipulekh-Tawaghat road was washed away due to a heavy rock fall.
It may take two days for the road to be opened for regular traffic movement.
The weather department has issued a further alert over a dust storm and thundershowers in the state's 13 districts.
Police have also issued an advisory, urging all pilgrims to stay at safe places and travel only after the weather is clear.
"All the devotees coming for Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham Yatra are requested to plan their journey after taking the weather forecast, keep rain cover, umbrella and woolen/warm clothes with them during the journey," the advisory reads.
