Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, was dethroned by Louis Vuitton's CEO, French fashion tycoon Bernard Arnault, after Tesla's shares dropped following Musk's acquisition of Twitter for $44 billion.
The fortune of Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, has once again topped $192 billion, making him the world's richest person, after shares of the electric carmaker rose about 24% in May and saw a 40.3% jump this year.
The latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index report shows that LVMH, the company behind luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Fendi, and Hennessy, has suffered a market value drop of approximately 10% since April.
This downfall resulted in Arnault losing $11 billion from his net worth in a day.
Arnault's fortune amounts to an astonishing $187 billion, placing him in second place on the list of the world's richest individuals. Meanwhile, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, ranks third with a colossal wealth of $144 billion.
Arnault first surpassed Musk in December as the tech industry struggled and luxury showed resilience in the face of inflation.
