Responsible to be 'Punished Stringently': PM Modi on Odisha Train Tragedy

Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express and a freight train collided in Balasore, Odisha on Friday evening, becoming one of the deadliest train accidents in the country in a decade.
India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the scene of the train accident and met the injured in Balasore District Hospital in Odisha on Saturday, announcing strict actions against those responsible for the tragedy.

While talking to the media after meeting the survivors of the tragic incident, Modi said: “It's a painful incident. Government will leave no stone unturned for the treatment of those injured. It's a serious incident and instructions have been issued for the comprehensive probe. Those found guilty will be punished stringently. Indian Railways is working at the track restoration.”

Modi was accompanied by Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Media reports quoting officials stated that the PM also spoke to the cabinet secretary and the health minister, asking them to ensure the provision of medical assistance to the injured. He likewise instructed the officials to take special care of the bereaved.
