In a bid to boost bilateral ties with its southern neighbor, New Delhi on Wednesday organized the first-ever India-Sri Lanka Defense Expo in Colombo.

According to an official statement, the event named India-Sri Lanka Defence Seminar and Exhibition, was held to increase "cooperation and collaboration" in the defense domain between the two countries.

The grand event includes a seminar highlighting the capability and capacities of the two countries in defence equipment manufacturing and would also exhibit a wide variety of defence products, the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka said in a press release.
