Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation on Thursday morning in greeting people across the country on the festive occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, wishing everyone joy and prosperity.India's President Droupadi Murmu also conveyed a special message to her fellow countrymen, highlighting that the festival motivates everyone to follow a path of sacrifice while working for humanity.Political Leaders Convey Warm Wishes for EidMeanwhile, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi took to social media and conveyed his wishes of prosperity and cheer to everyone on the occasion of this festival.Also joining in to offer a festive message, Delhi State Chief and Aam Aadmi Party head Arvind Kejriwal wished the people of India good health and everlasting cheer.Meanwhile, thousands of Muslims offered Namaz at Delhi's iconic 17th-century mosque, the Jama Masjid, in the morning.To mark this holiday, after prayers, people sacrifice animals as an expression of their devotion, and distribute it to the needy.

14:32 29.06.2023 (Updated: 15:08 29.06.2023) Eid ul-Adha, also known as Eid-ul-Zuha or Bakrid, is celebrated according to the Islamic lunar calendar generally on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, which is the 12th or last month of the Islamic almanac.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation on Thursday morning in greeting people across the country on the festive occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, wishing everyone joy and prosperity.
In a Twitter post, Modi said: "Greetings on Eid-ul-Adha. May this day bring happiness and prosperity to everyone. May it also uphold the spirit of togetherness and harmony in our society. Eid Mubarak."
India's President Droupadi Murmu also conveyed a special message to her fellow countrymen, highlighting that the festival motivates everyone to follow a path of sacrifice while working for humanity.
"On the occasion of Eid-ul-Zuha, I greet all [of our] countrymen, especially [our] Muslim brothers and sisters, and offer them best wishes. Eid-ul-Zuha is an auspicious festival of love and sacrifice. It inspires us to follow the path of sacrifice and serve humanity selflessly. Let's take a vow to boost the spirit of brotherhood and harmony," the President said in her message.
Political Leaders Convey Warm Wishes for Eid
Meanwhile, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi took to social media and conveyed his wishes of prosperity and cheer to everyone on the occasion of this festival.
"Eid Mubarak! May this auspicious occasion bring peace, prosperity and happiness to all," Gandhi tweeted.
Also joining in to offer a festive message, Delhi State Chief and Aam Aadmi Party head Arvind Kejriwal wished the people of India good health and everlasting cheer.
"Heartiest greetings to all citizens for Eid-ul-Ajah. May this festival bring immense progress, and always keep you cheerful, healthy and prosperous."
Meanwhile, thousands of Muslims offered Namaz at Delhi's iconic 17th-century mosque, the Jama Masjid, in the morning.
