Despite its failed offensive attempts, Kiev continues to be sending all its troops at the Russian defenses, sacrificing hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Monday that the ongoing Ukrainian offensive had not reached its goals in any of the directions of the military campaign.

"In general, the enemy did not achieve its goals in any of the directions. This testifies to the skill of our fighters and clearly inflated expectations from the vaunted Western weapons," Shoigu told top military officials at a meeting.

He added that Kiev required the command of the Ukrainian army to continue offensive operations at the request of the West, despite significant losses.

"Despite significant losses, the Ukrainian leadership requires the command of the Ukrainian armed forces to continue the offensive at the insistence of Western curators," Defense Minister said.

He added that Kiev was trying to compensate for the failures of its counteroffensive by shelling civilian targets for propaganda effect.
Shoigu also noticed that the Russian forces had destroyed 920 Ukrainian armored vehicles, including 16 Leopard tanks, in Donbas and Zaporozhye regions in June.

"Only in the South Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Donetsk directions, where Ukrainian formations are undertaking unsuccessful attacks, groups of the Russian armed forces destroyed 15 aircraft, three helicopters, 920 armored vehicles, including 16 Leopard tanks," Shoigu told top military officials.

The minister added that Russian air defense forces have intercepted "158 HIMARS rockets, 25 Storm Shadow cruise missiles and 386 drones."
Moreover, the Russian military is reducing the offensive potential of the Ukrainian armed forces by conducting effective strikes, Shoigu emphasised.

"Our armed forces continue to inflict effective fire damage on the enemy, which significantly reduces its offensive potential," Shoigu told top military officials.

The Russian Defense Minister also commented on the attempted armed mutiny in Russia on June 23-25, saying that attempt to destabilize the situation in Russia had failed due to the loyalty to oath and military duty of military personnel of the Russian armed forces

"I cannot but touch upon one more issue ... We are talking about an attempt on June 23-25 to destabilize the situation in Russia. These plans failed primarily because the personnel of the armed forces showed loyalty to the oath and military duty," Shoigu told top military officials at a meeting.
