Delhi State Chief Arvind Kejriwal has been meeting chiefs of opposition parties to garner support against an ordinance recently passed by the federal government regarding postings and transfers of Delhi officials.
The city of Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will hold a week-long protest starting from Thursday against an ordinance passed by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led federal government related to the control over transfers and the posting of officials in the national capital.
The party also issued a statement on Wednesday saying that the protest would be held at various locations, streets, and intersections across Delhi from July 6-13.

The development came days after the party had called off the protest against the ordinance as it had already gone to the Supreme Court over the party, which said that the matter wasn't within its judicial purview.
Talking about the objective of such a protest, the party has just said the week-long protest will serve as a powerful reminder of public discontent against the ordinance.
Meanwhile, AAP workers on Wednesday burnt copies and symbolic effigies of the controversial order at various locations in Delhi.
The AAP has been protesting against the ordinance brought by the federal government on May 19 giving Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor the supreme authority to decide the transfer and posting of Group-A officers in the national capital.
The ordinance was brought in days after the Supreme Court of India had passed an order stating that the Delhi government will have power over bureaucrats assigned to departments.
