Russian officials raised alarm that the West’s arms supplied to Ukraine will eventually end up on the black market and fall into the hands of terrorists or criminal organizations.
Weapons supplied by Western countries to Ukraine are used by protesters in France, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.
"Weapons delivered to Kiev [by the West, NATO and France] end up in the hands of protesters and are used against police in France," Zakharova told reporters.
She stressed that the weapons provided to “nationalists, Nazis and fascists on Ukrainian soil have boomeranged, not just surfacing in their countries [Western nations], but are also being used against their own people”.
Ukraine Weapons Sold on Black Market
The problem of illegal and uncontrolled arms trafficking intensified after the start of Western arms supplies to the Kiev regime.
In December, Russia requested a meeting of the UN Security Council over the situation with weapons being supplied to Ukraine, which then find their way to various regions of the world, posing a threat to international peace and security.
Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vassily Nebenzia noted at the time that the smuggling of weapons supplied to Kiev to third countries was increasing.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu also delivered an alarming message on this issue at a meeting of defense ministers in New Delhi in April. According to him, the weapons transferred by Kiev end up in the hands of terrorists worldwide.
