Tech giant Wipro announced plans to invest $1 billion into Artificial Intelligence (AI) over the next three years on Wednesday.The company explained in a statement that the investment would focus on expanding AI, big data, analytics solutions and developing new research, development and platforms. “With the emergence of generative AI, we expect a fundamental shift up ahead for all industries,” Wipro Chief Executive Officer Thierry Delaporte said. The company also launched Wipro ai360, its AI-first innovation system.The tech giant announcement came a week after its rival Tata Consultancy Services said it would be training its 25,000 engineers to get them certified on Microsoft's Azure Open AI.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has evolved to become one of the key drivers in the tech industry of late. AI-generated revenue in India in 2023 is expected to be $22.2 billion, compared to $12.3 billion in 2022. IT service providers hold 56% of the AI market share in India.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) over the next three years on Wednesday.
The company explained in a statement that the investment would focus on expanding AI, big data, analytics solutions and
developing new research, development and platforms.
"Wipro Ltd., the Indian outsourcing provider, plans to spend $1 billion to train its 250,000 employees in artificial intelligence and integrate the technology into its product offerings," the release stated.
“With the emergence of generative AI, we expect a fundamental shift up ahead for all industries,” Wipro Chief Executive Officer Thierry Delaporte said. The company also launched Wipro ai360, its AI-first innovation system.
The tech giant
