Western allies began pouring weapons and ammunition into Ukraine shortly after Russia launched its military operation. Their support has since evolved from light artillery munitions and training to heavier weapons, including tanks. In recent months, Ukraine has been pushing its donors to supply fighter jets.
More than 2,500 activists of the Young Guard of the All-Russian Political Party and the Volunteer Company in Moscow and St. Petersburg went to the embassies of Lithuania, Germany, Italy, the US, the UK and other unfriendly countries to express dissatisfaction with NATO's support of the Kiev regime and its supply of weapons to Ukraine.
“We went to the Embassy of Lithuania and the embassies of 10 other countries that are transferring lethal weapons to Ukraine. We protest against the transfer of such weapons, since civilians are under attack. It was with this weapon that the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power plant was bombed, it is this weapon that injures and maims the elderly and children,” said Anton Demidov, chairman of the Young Guard of the All-Russian Political Party.
“We believe that the [NATO] summit [...] in Vilnius is truly a summit of death, because it decides the issue of pumping Ukraine with new weapons to kill civilians,” he added.
"Thousands of our volunteers have seen with their own eye the results of the atrocities and barbarities committed by the Ukrainian nationalist battalions. We have seen with our own eyes the eyes of mothers who lost their children as a result indiscriminate shelling of civilian cities with NATO weapons. Supplying weapons to the Nazi regime, they destroy the lives of civilians, killing their relatives and friends. Their weapons kill elderly people and children," Alexander Amelin, head of the central headquarters of the Young Guard of the United Russia, said.
As a result of the NATO summit that took place in Vilnius from July 11-12, NATO leaders agreed on a package of three elements to bring Ukraine closer to the alliance. Moreover, on Wednesday, G7 member states also presented the Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine, which provides for the allocation of additional military equipment, expanded intelligence sharing and new training programs for the Ukrainian military, as well as the development of industrial capacities. Norway joined the declaration later that day.
Western countries have been supplying military aid to Kiev since Russia started it military operation in Ukraine. In April 2022, Russia sent a diplomatic note to all countries on the issue of arms supplies to Kiev.
