Indian shuttler Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, popularly known as Satwik, has set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest hit by a male player in badminton, recording a speed of 565 km/h with his smash. Meanwhile, Malaysia’s Tan Pearly set the world record for the fastest female badminton hits with a remarkable speed of 438 km/h (about 272 mph).On Tuesday, the Guinness World Records official judges announced the world record based on their judgment on the speed measurement results from that day.Interestingly, Satwik's smash was faster than a Formula 1 car which has a top speed of 372.6 km/h.In April this year, Satwik made an attempt for the world record that was held in a controlled environment at the Yonex factory gymnasium in Soka, Saitama, Japan.
