Pakistan is facing a severe economic challenge, and although the IMF has approved a loan package of $3 billion, the country is now eyeing investments from Saudi Arabia, China, and the UAE, among others.
Outlining his priorities, Acting Foreign Minister of Pakistan Jalil Abbas Jilani has said he seeks close relations with all major powers, better ties with India, and further cementing cooperation with the Gulf region, media reported.

Jilani, a veteran diplomat and newly appointed caretaker foreign minister, said, “We are clear that Pakistan will not enter into any bloc politics”.

On Thursday, Jilani took oath and said he would continue to follow the foreign policy developed through national consensus.
In the recent past, Pakistan skipped the US president’s Democracy Summit. It was seen as an attempt on its part not to antagonize its ally China.
Local Pakistani reports suggest that the election in the country may not take place this year, and in this scenario, the interim government's role extends to several months.
Meanwhile, Jilani said he would also be focusing on maintaining close ties with the Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
