20:57 20.08.2023 (Updated: 20:58 20.08.2023) MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian air defenses struck down 12 aerial targets as they approached the city of Belgorod in the region bordering Ukraine on Sunday, Belgorod regional governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said.
"Twelve aerial targets were struck down as they approached the city," Gladkov wrote on social media.
Emergency services are assessing the situation on the ground, the governor added.
At the same day, Ukrainian drones were also downed in the Kursk region of Russia, with at least 5 people reported injured.
