Russia Joins Ranks of World's Top 5 Economies in Purchasing Power Parity

The World Bank has published information on the GDP of countries around the globe with regard to purchasing power parity for 2022. Russia ($5.33 trillion) ranked number five worldwide on this score.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia had surpassed Germany to become the world’s fifth-largest economy in a statement to his presidential council on military development and national projects.
According to World Bank analysts, these rankings will remain consistent until 2030. Russia is projected to catch up to Japan, while India is expected to approach the economic prowess of the United States. Specifically, Russia's total domestic product is anticipated to reach $5.9 trillion, with a growth rate of 7.9%.
