After the three-day BRICS Summit in South Africa, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Greece today at the invitation of Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He is the first Indian PM to visit Greece since Indira Gandhi went there in 1983.
Ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Athens, several Greek students from a prestigious Bollywood Dance Academy in Greece are set to give an awe-inspiring performance at an Indian diaspora event and win his admiration.
Videos of the students decked up in traditional dance costumes and doing a rehearsal on the popular foot-tapping "Ganesh Vandana", "Bole Chudiyan", and Oscar-winning "Naatu Naatu" songs are making the rounds on social media.
Indian-Greek choreographer Suman Rudra opened up to an Indian news agency and expressed general excitement about PM Modi's visit.
She said that India and Greece share a magnificent history that dates back to as far as 300 BC.
"This is the first time Greek women will participate in the Indian diaspora to welcome our Prime Minister," Rudra said.
A Greek student from the Bollywood Dance Academy, who has devoted six years to mastering the intricate art of the "Bharatanatyam" dance and other Indian genres, said it's a privilege to showcase her talent before the esteemed presence of PM Modi in Athens.
