The SJ-100, also known as Sukhoi Superjet 100, is a regional jet with the flight range of about 4,500 kilometers (2,800 miles).
A Russian airliner SJ-100 assembled using only domestic components have made its first flight confirming the stability of the domestic systems, the Russian Industry Ministry said on Tuesday.

"A prototype of the Russian short-haul aircraft SJ-100, manufactured by the Production Center of Yakovlev PJSC in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, made its first flight. During the tests, the stable operation of all domestic systems, the controllability and stability of the aircraft in the air were confirmed," the ministry said in a statement.

Around 40 foreign systems and components of SJ-100 were replaced with domestically manufactured parts, the ministry added.
The flight lasted 54 minutes. It took place at the altitude of below 3,000 meters (9,842 feet) and the speed was up to 343 kilometers (213 miles) per hour. In accordance with the flight task, the crew performed a check of the stability and controllability of the aircraft in the air, a check of the automatic pressure control system in the cabin, and also made a "cloud landing" and a go-around approach, the ministry said.

"The first flight of the Superjet, created under the program of import substitution of systems and components, is the success of many thousands employees of enterprises in the aircraft manufacturing and radio-electronic industries that are part of the control loop of the state corporation Rostec. Russian developers and manufacturers managed to implement and put on the aircraft their own design solutions and technologies, including avionics, landing gear, auxiliary power unit, integrated control system, as well as power supply systems, air conditioning, fire protection and many others," Industry Minister Denis Manturov said.

The first unit used Franco-Russian SaM146 engines, while the second prototype will be equipped with Russian PD-8 engines that are currently being tested.
