Around six to seven out of every 100 individuals have been affected by the virus, with children constituting 50% of the cases due to low immunity. The other 50% of patients are adults with pre-existing lung conditions, experts said.
Cases of a new viral illness with acute symptoms similar to swine flu, influenza, and adenovirus have been on the rise in Telangana state's Hyderabad city.
However, health experts have asked people to not panic, as it is 100% recoverable within five days.
According to one pulmonology expert, the virus is currently mainly impacting two groups: children and adults who have pre-existing lung conditions, including COPD (commonly known as smoker's asthma), post-tuberculosis complications, COVID-19-related lung damage, and asthma.
