Amid a controversy over “Bharat-India”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked his ministers to refrain from commenting on the issue.Media reports quoting sources said that Modi, during a meeting with the Council of ministers on late Wednesday evening, stated that only the official spokesperson of the party should speak on the issue.He, however, asked the ministers to give a befitting reply to Tamil Nadu State Chief M.K. Udhayanidhi Stalin’s, the son of Stalin, who made a controversial statement about Sanatan Dharma.He told the ministers that they should first learn about the subject and present the facts to counter the opposition over the issue.Meanwhile, discussion about G-20 and other issues were also held during the meeting.Bharat Versus India ControversyThe newly formed opposition bloc Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) has been firing all guns at the federal government since President Droupadi Murmu invited the G20 delegates in her capacity as “President of Bharat” instead of “President of India”.The opposition bloc said that it is a violation of Constitution and claimed that the government had intentionally done this because the name of their political bloc was I.N.D.I.A.However, several senior ministers rubbished the claims of the opposition bloc, saying there was no violation and even the Constitution said "India that is Bharat".Udhayanidhi Stalin's Controversial StatementApart from “Bharat versus India” controversy, there has been a massive political uproar over the controversial remark of Udhayanidi Stalin (son of Tamil Nadu State Chief M.K. Stalin) on Sanatan Dharma.While addressing a public gathering, he had compared Sanatan Dharma to mosquito-borne diseases like Dengue and Malaria and called for its eradication.The BJP has been attacking Stalin as well as the entire opposition bloc over the issue. The BJP said that Udhayanidhi’s call to eradicate Sanatan Dharm was “genocidal” while opposition silence is questionable.Federal Home Minister Amit Shah was among the first to launch a scathing attack on the opposition bloc as he said that I.N.D.I.A, the newly formed opposition parties' alliance, was anti-Hindu. Incidentally, DMK, the party to which politician Udhyanidi Stalin belonged, was part of it.
