Sukhdool Singh, also known as Sukha Duneke, fled from the Indian state of Punjab to Canada in 2017 on a fraudulent passport.
Jailed Indian crime kingpin Lawrence Bishnoi on Wednesday said that he had gunned down Canada-based gangster Sukhdool Singh.
Singh was allegedly slain on Wednesday by unidentified armed assailants.
Claiming responsibility for Singh's killing, the Bishnoi gang took to social media stating that Singh had murdered his brother Gurlal Brar and was also behind the killing of Vicky Middukhera as well as kabaddi player Sandeep Nagal Ambian.
The Bishnoi gang called Singh a
"drug addict" and also alleged that he
destroyed the lives of many people and that
he was ultimately "
punished for his sins."
In Bishnoi's post, his enemies were issued a stern warning, saying they would not be able to live in peace "even if they hide in India or any other country."
Meanwhile, Singh was also a supporter of Khalistani terrorist Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala. In India, Sukhdool Singh was listed among “Category A" gangsters.
He was also one of 43 mobsters with links to Khalistan and Canada mentioned in a list released by the anti-terror agency National Investigative Agency (
NIA) on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Bishnoi is currently incarcerated in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad district on drug smuggling charges under investigation by the NIA. Bishnoi is also one of the
accused in the murder case of singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Singh's slaying comes at a time when diplomatic tensions between India and Canada are brewing over the killing of another Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British California.
Nijjar, who was
wanted in India, was gunned down in June.
