Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated his people and thanked all the parliamentarians for passing the Women's Reservation Bill named Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.Earlier on Wednesday, the bill was passed in the Lok Sabha after 454 MPs voted in favour of it.In a tweet in Hindi, Modi while congratulating the countrymen termed the passage of the bill as a “historic moment in country’s democratic journey”.He also expressed his 'heartfelt gratitude' to all members of the Rajya Sabha for voting in favour of the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill and said that 'its unanimous passage is very encouraging'.Modi highlighted the significance of this measure, emphasizing that it will amplify the voices of women and provide them with a sense of identity, empowerment, and resilience.Following the unanimous passage of the bill in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, women MPs graciously presented a bouquet to the Prime Minister and shared sweets with him outside the Parliament.Sharing the photo with women parliamentarians, Modi said in another post on X (formerly Twitter): “Had the honour of meeting our dynamic women MPs, who are absolutely thrilled at the passage of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. It is gladdening to see the torchbearers of change come together to celebrate the very legislation they have championed. With the passage of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, India stands at the cusp of a brighter, more inclusive future with our Nari Shakti being at the core of this transformation.”BJP Holds Mega CelebrationOn Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a grand celebration at its headquarters in New Delhi to commemorate the successful passage of the Women's Reservation Bill.All the top leaders of the party including PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, National President JP Nadda and others, were present on the occasion.During the function, Modi and Nadda addressed the party workers and spoke about the work done by the government for women.In his address, Nadda said: "Not only has the government taken many steps for the empowerment of women, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also resolved the long pending issues of women in a democratic manner."“Historically significant decisions are being made under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These decisions, focused on empowering women, will lead to a change in the landscape and destiny of India,” the BJP president further added."The Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam is not an ordinary law. This is a proclamation of the New India's democratic commitment. This is an evidence of the Modi’s guarantee of women-led development," PM Modi said today while addressing the women BJP workers in Delhi.He stated that the BJP had been fighting for this legislation for three decades to increase women's participation in democracy. This was our commitment and we have fulfilled it.He stated that the successful passage of the bill in both Houses is clear evidence that a strong majority government can make significant decisions and achieve remarkable milestones for the country.On his arrival at the BJP headquarters, Modi was greeted by several women workers of the party who offered him garlands.The women’s reservation bill had been pending since 1996.

The Women's Reservation Bill, which provides for a 33 per cent quota for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies, received the nod of the Union Cabinet on Monday (18 September).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated his people and thanked all the parliamentarians for passing the Women's Reservation Bill named Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.
The bill was passed unanimously in Rajya Sabha (upper house of parliament) late on Thursday night after a day-long debate.
Earlier on Wednesday, the bill was passed in the Lok Sabha after 454 MPs voted in favour of it.

He also expressed his 'heartfelt gratitude' to all members of the Rajya Sabha for voting in favour of the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill and said that 'its unanimous passage is very encouraging'.
“With the passing of this bill, the representation of women power will be strengthened and a new era of their empowerment will begin. This is not just a law, but through it, the mothers, sisters and daughters of the country who play an invaluable role in nation building have got their rights,” the Prime Minister stated in his tweet.
