Most Americans Fed Up With Biden's Endless Spending in Ukraine: US Congressman
The United States is the largest funder of Ukraine's combat effort against Russia, with the Joe Biden administration providing $113 billion in aid till August 2023.
Most Americans are fed up with US financial aid to Ukraine and concerned about US President Joe Biden's "endless spending" on the Ukraine conflict, a Republican congressman said.
"I have voted against every single bill to fund the war in Ukraine and I will not support this latest $40 billion supplemental request, or any future request, by Biden to perpetuate the needless death and destruction on both sides in this war," US Republican Congressman Paul Gosar told Sputnik.
According to him, inflation was at a historic high in the US. Besides, America was buried in a $33 trillion national debt.
"Anyone in Congress who thinks differently should spend more time away from Washington DC because most Americans are fed up with the war and the endless spending. Congress should stop wasting money in Ukraine and focus on America's needs," Gosar added.
The remarks of Gosar come at a time when Biden has been facing stiff resistance from the US Congress, particularly from
opposition Republic lawmakers, in his bid to provide $24 billion in additional aid to Ukraine.
With Ukraine's so-called counter-offensive not showing the desired results, the Western nations have become increasingly apprehensive about continuing their funding to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's forces.
Earlier this week, Poland, which shares borders with Ukraine, announced that it would not supply weapons to Kiev from now on.
