From October 15, the nine-day Hindu festival of 'Navratri', a Sanskrit word meaning "nine nights", will begin. On each day, devotees can try different colors for their festive outfits.
Hindu devotees in India and around the world are eagerly preparing for the spectacular nine-day Navratri festival, an occasion celebrated with immense excitement and fervor.
One such way that the devotees celebrate this festival is by wearing nine different colors associated with nine reported avatars of Goddess Durga that are worshipped on each day of Navratri.

October 15, 2023: First Day of Navratri - Orange

On the first day of Navratri, Goddess Shailputri, also known as Parvati, Bhavani, and Hemavati, is worshipped. In her honor, devotees wear orange which signifies warmth, joy and exuberance.

October 16, 2023: Second Day of Navratri - White

The color of the second day of Navratri is white, signifying purity, peace, and meditation.
On this day, Goddess Brahmacharini, the unmarried form of the Goddess Parvati, is worshipped who also dons a white saree and is depicted walking barefoot carrying Japa Mala (prayer beads) in her right hand and a Kamandal (oblong water pot) in the left.

October 19, 2023: Fifth Day of Navratri - Yellow

On the fifth day of Navratri, devotees wear yellow as they worship Goddess Skandmata, the mother of Lord Skanda (also known as Lord Kartikeya or Lord Murugan).
Devotees worship her as the goddess of motherhood and make generous use of turmeric (haldi) on this day for cooking, applying it on the skin, and offering prayers too.
