The heads of energy sectors in Russia and Pakistan discussed possible increase in hydrocarbon supplies from Russia during the Russian Energy Week.
Pakistan expects that Russia will cover 10% of the country's oil demand in the future, Pakistani Energy Minister Muhammad Ali said on Thursday.

"Going forward, we think that we can need roughly 10% of our needs from the Russian oil … and in the next few years we can take it to around 30%," Ali said at the Russian Energy Week.

Pakistan is also considering the possibility of not using US dollar to pay for Russian oil, the minister said, adding that the issue is under discussion.
According to the Russian Energy Ministry, the Russian Minister Nikolai Shulginov discussed with his Pakistani counterpart the following issues:
Strengthening bilateral relations in the oil and gas sector, including trade;
Organizing work to prepare a Comprehensive Plan for the Development of the Gas Industry of Pakistan, including the construction of the Pakistan Stream gas pipeline;
Prospects for increasing supplies of Russian hydrocarbons to Pakistan.
