The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had attacked the positions of Lebanese armed group Hezbollah in southern Lebanon after an unidentified object infiltrated Israel.
"A short while ago, the IDF struck a Hezbollah terror target in southern Lebanon in response to the infiltration of unidentified aerial objects into Israel and fire on an IDF UAV. The IDF intercepted the infiltrating aerial object and the fire on the IDF UAV," the IDF said on Telegram.
Hamas Holding Captive Over 120 Civilians in Gaza - Israel Defense Forces
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Palestinian movement Hamas is holding captive more than 120 civilians in the Gaza Strip.
"Over 120 civilians are being held captive in Gaza by the Hamas terrorist organization," the IDF said on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Earlier reports said about 150 Israelis could be held captive by Hamas; there was no exact information how many of them were civilians and military personnel.
Around 30 Mortar Shells Fired at Israel's Territory From Lebanon - IDF
Around 30 mortar shells have been fired from Lebanon at Israel, with some of them hitting the Israeli territory, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday.
"Around 30 mortar shells were fired [from Lebanon], with some of them reaching the Israeli territory," the IDF said in a statement, adding that it had conducted strikes in response.
Palestine's Islamic Jihad Says Carrying Out Strikes at Israeli Cities of Ashkelon, Sderot
Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, said on Saturday that they were carrying out missile strikes at the Israeli cities of Ashkelon and Sderot in the southern part of the country.
"Al-Quds Brigades are conducting missile strikes at the cities of Ashkelon, Sderot and [the kibbutz of] Zikim," the statement read.

US Embassy in Bahrain to Close Doors During Israel-Related Rally Nearby
The US embassy in Bahrain announced it would be closed for several hours on Saturday because of a planned protest rally against the US' support for Israel's actions in Palestine.
"A demonstration around the U.S. Embassy has been publicly announced on social media for the afternoon of Saturday, October 14. Out of an abundance of caution, the U.S. Embassy will be closed to all personnel from 1500 to 1700. American citizens are advised to avoid the area around the U.S. Embassy during this time," the embassy said on X (formerly Twitter).

Israelis Rallying Near Defense Ministry to Demand Release of Hostages Held by Hamas
A rally demanding the release of Israeli hostages captured by Hamas is taking place on Saturday afternoon in front of the Israeli Defense Ministry headquarters in Tel Aviv, a Sputnik correspondent has reported.
People took to the streets with Israeli flags and posters demanding the return of Israeli captives from the Gaza Strip, the correspondent reported. Police are present at the rally but are not trying to disperse the participants, the report read.

IDF Says Will Start Active Combat Operations in Gaza Strip Once Situation 'Permissible'
The Israeli forces will start active combat operations in the Gaza Strip once the conditions allow them to do so after assessing the situation on the ground, spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Jonathan Conricus said on Saturday.
"We'll have to assess the situation on the ground, see how many civilians are left in the area and understand how many of them are blocked by Hamas from actually evacuating ... and once we'll see the situation will be permissible for significant combat operations, then they'll commence," Conricus told CNN when asked when a possible ground operation by the IDF would start in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Military Says Launched Retaliatory Airstrikes After Incoming Hamas Missile
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday that its aircraft had struck Hamas fighters after they have launched an anti-tank missile toward the territory around the Gaza Strip.
Earlier in the day, the Gaza Strip's Hamas-linked government accused the IDF of striking at convoys of Gazans attempting to evacuate as was Israel's demand. It said Israeli strikes left 70 people killed and more than 200 injured.
"IDF aircraft targeted Hamas terrorists immediately after they launched an anti-tank missile toward the area surrounding the Gaza Strip," the IDF said on Telegram.
Meanwhile, a Jordanian field hospital in the Gaza Strip was completely shut down as a result of Israeli bombing, Jordanian broadcaster Al-Mamlaka reported.

Death Toll of Russian-Israeli Dual Nationals in Hostilities Rises to 16 - Russian Embassy
The number of Russians killed during the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has reached 16, all of them also had Israeli citizenship, the Russian embassy in Tel Aviv told Sputnik on Saturday.
"We regret to inform you that as of 1 p.m. [10:00 GMT] on October 14, the number of deceased Russian citizens, who also had Israeli citizenship, has increased to 16 people, based on information from Israel. At present, the consular section of the embassy, together with the representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Israel, are engaged in verifying and confirming the available information," the embassy said.
Eight more Russians are listed as missing and at least one Russian is listed as captured by Hamas, the embassy said.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday that it had eliminated a company commander of the Hamas's "Nukhba" commando forces who attacked Israeli communities near Gaza Strip border.

IDF Prepares for Further Steps on Operation in Gaza
The IDF intends to continue launching massive strikes against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, further steps in the operation are being prepared, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said on Saturday.
"We intend to continue massive attacks on Gaza. We are preparing the next steps in the Gaza war and are ready to deploy forces in all arenas. Anyone who approaches the security fence will die," Hagari said in a televised address.
Hundreds of thousands of residents of northern Gaza have heard the IDF's call and have fled the area, he said, adding that the IDF continues to distribute leaflets about evacuation routes and paths.
