Bobi, the oldest dog in the world, passed away five months after a joyous celebration of his 31st birthday in May. The unforgettable party attracted over 100 guests, including some who traveled from abroad to attend.The world's oldest dog lived for 31 years, and 165 days, and passed away on 21 October at his home in the Portuguese village of Conqueiros.Bobi's age was verified by his vet and a pet database authorized by the Portuguese government.In February of this year, Bobi cemented his status as the world's oldest living dog, surpassing the previous title-holder, a chihuahua living in Ohio, USA.He also broke the record of the world's oldest dog ever held by Australian cattle-dog Bluey, who passed away at the age of 29 years and five months in 1939.Veterinarian Dr Karen Becker, who has had the privilege of meeting Bobi on several occasions, confirmed the news and expressed her heartfelt condolences on social media, saying: "Last night this adorable boy earned his well-deserved wings.Bobi's owner, Leonel Costa, has yet to comment on his dog's death.When Bobi turned 31, Costa told the media that his dog had been a true warrior all these years and that only he understood the remarkable resilience Bobi had shown.Costa clarified that this task poses quite a challenge, given the relatively short lifespan of dogs.According to Costa, the secret behind Bobi's extraordinary long life lies in the serene and tranquil surroundings he resided in. Additionally, Bobi's nourishing diet comprising of human food and the freedom he embraced also played a crucial role.His longevity was also linked to his genes, as his mother, Gira, lived to the age of 18, and another family dog, Chicote, lived to the age of 22.

Bobi, the oldest dog in the world, passed away five months after a joyous celebration of his 31st birthday in May. The unforgettable party attracted over 100 guests, including some who traveled from abroad to attend.
