IDF Strikes Over 400 Hamas Targets, Eliminates Several Commanders

Following a surprise attack by Hamas on October 7, Israel ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army is currently preparing for a ground operation in the region.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday that it had carried out strikes against the infrastructure of Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah after the latter fired rockets and anti-tank missiles into Israeli territory.

"A short while ago, the IDF struck terror targets belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization. Among them, a military compound, a military post, and an observation post used by Hezbollah," the IDF said on Telegram, adding that the strikes were conducted in response to the "rocket and anti-tank missile launches from Lebanese territory."

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is ready for a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi said on Tuesday, adding that decisions on its from and time are expected to be taken at the political level.
"The IDF is ready for ground maneuvers, we will make a decision with political echelons regarding the form and timing of the next phase," Halevi told a press conference near Israel’s border with the Gaza Strip, as quoted by the Times of Israel newspaper.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin the situation in the Middle East, the Turkish presidency said on Tuesday.
"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the conversation, the leaders of the two countries discussed the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Palestine and the humanitarian crisis in the region," the presidency said.
Erdogan said that Turkey is making every effort for reaching a deescalation of the situation in the region, the presidency said.
"President Erdogan stressed during the talks that Turkey will continue to make every effort to ensure calm in the region," Erdogan's office said.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday it carried out strikes at over 400 Hamas targets, killing numerous members of the Palestinian movement, including several commanders.
"Over the last day, the IDF struck over 400 terror targets and killed several Hamas commanders and numerous operatives preparing attacks," the IDF said on Telegram, specifying that "dozens" of Hamas operatives were eliminated.

US President Joe Biden held a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during which he welcomed the release of two more hostages from Gaza and noted the need to maintain a continuous flow of humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip, the White House said on Tuesday.
"The President welcomed the release of two additional hostages from Gaza earlier today, and reaffirmed his commitment to ongoing efforts to secure the release of all the remaining hostages taken by Hamas – including Americans ... The President also underscored the need to sustain a continuous flow of urgently needed humanitarian assistance into Gaza," the White House said in a statement.

Spain Increases Aid to Palestine to $22.4Mln, Preparing to Double This Amount - Minister
The Spanish government has increased humanitarian aid to Palestine to 21 million euros ($22.4 million) and plans to double this amount in the near future, acting Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said on Monday.
"What Palestine needs at the moment is more aid, not less. And this has been taken into account in the [European] Commission's actions, and today the commissioner in charge of humanitarian assistance reiterated that assistance to Gaza will be increased threefold ... And, of course, we have been at the forefront of defending this position and have increased our aid to Palestine to 21 million euros. And we are working to announce a doubling of this amount very soon," Albares told reporters after the Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg.
