A policeman from the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has rescued around 500 snakes in 15 years, earning him the title of 'self-taught snake rescuer'.
A constable from Madhya Pradesh has become the talk of the town as a video of him trying to rescue a snake through CPR has taken the internet by storm.
In the viral video, a cop can be seen making attempts to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to revive a snake that had become unconscious after consuming water laced with pesticide.
According to media reports, the non-poisonous snake had entered a pipeline in a residential colony.
After their unsuccessful attempts to remove it from inside the pipe, the residents resorted to pouring water infused with pesticide Faced with their failed endeavors to extract it from within the pipe, the inhabitants turned to the option of pouring water laced with pesticide down the pipe. This made the snake unconscious.
Unsure of what to do next, the residents called the cops.
The video has gone viral, drawing a lot of reactions from the netizens.
Although the police officer was commended for his actions, a veterinarian stated that performing CPR on a snake would not effectively revive it. Instead, the snake could have potentially regained consciousness naturally.
