The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the successful launch of a Soyuz-2.1b rocket carrying military satellites from the Plesetsk cosmodrome.
A Soyuz-2.1b rocket carrying satellites was launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, according to media reports citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
The launch was executed in the interests of the military department and the purpose of the payload remains undisclosed.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command previously reported that the Russian military satellite Cosmos-2542 had decayed from orbit and burnt up in the atmosphere's dense layers.
