India has been trying to defuse tensions in the Gaza region by reaching out to all with vested interests. India's Prime Minister Modi has already spoken to several world leaders in this regard.
With the geopolitics of the Middle East in mind, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been trying to do all he can to defuse tensions between Israel and Hamas, given the ongoing conflict and the fact that it's so close to home.
Thousands of people have been killed, thousands more injured, including children and women, and millions displaced since the conflict erupted between the militant Palestinian group Hamas and Israel, with the latter firing thousands of rockets at Israeli cities without provocation in the early hours of 7 October.
Last week, Modi spoke to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and discussed the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in the affected areas. The two leaders reportedly agreed on the need for early restoration of peace and stability in the region.

“Yesterday, spoke with President AlsisiOfficial. Exchanged views on the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in West Asia,” the Indian Prime Minister said in a post on X Sunday.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also issued an official statement saying that Modi and El-Sisi discussed the situation in West Asia and its implications.
"Both leaders expressed their shared concern over terrorism, violence and loss of civilian lives. The Prime Minister reiterated India's longstanding and principled position on the Israeli-Palestinian issue," it read.
“The two leaders agreed on the need for early restoration of peace and stability and facilitating humanitarian assistance,” the MEA said in the statement.
Modi, who had spoken to Jordan's King Abdullah-II on the phone on 23 October to discuss the issue, made the same remarks after the talks.
Since that time, the Indian leader has taken the initiative to discuss the matter with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
India's response to similar situations mirrors its consistent stance on other ongoing conflicts, such as the Ukraine conflict. India has consistently employed a diplomatic strategy of balancing, even though the circumstances, conditions, and politics of the two scenarios are not comparable.
