Russia is gearing up for the large-scale production of an innovative artillery system, known as the Koalitsiya-SV. Sputnik has created an infographic highlighting its features.
Russia's military industrial complex is getting set to mass produce a new artillery system called the 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV (Coalition-SV) self-propelled gun. This weapon has innovative qualities that could drastically alter the battlefield landscape.
Bestowed with high expectations, the Koalitsiya-SV, boasts a range of 70–80 kilometers. Additionally, its impressive firing rate of over 10 rounds per minute, potentially even 16 rounds per minute according to some reports, sets a new benchmark for self-propelled howitzers.
The system is highly automated and is often referred to as a "combat robot," as noted by Bekhan Ozdoev, the industrial director of Rostec's Armaments, Ammunition, and Special Chemicals Cluster. A team of three, consisting of a commander, a driver-mechanic, and a gunner, operate the firing mechanism from inside the armored capsule mounted on the chassis of the T-90 tank.
