India and Bangladesh have developed into a model relationship over the past decade, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated.
India-Bangladesh relations stand out as a 'model relationship' in the Indian subcontinent in terms of the benefits of regional cooperation, Indian foreign minister S Jaishankar said on Thursday, highlighting the progress made in bilateral ties over the past decade.
Jaishankar was responding to a question from Saida Muna Tasneem, Bangladesh's High Commissioner to the UK, at a Royal Overseas League event on Wednesday evening.

"Today, our relationship stands out in the Indian subcontinent as a model relationship in terms of the benefits of regional cooperation," he declared.

The EAM also acknowledged the revolutionary developments of the past decade, citing the opening of a power plant and two railways linking Bangladesh and India. The mutual benefits of energy supplies through pipelines and the strategic use of Bangladesh's ports for India's northeast further underline the depth of the relationship.
