Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise attack against Israel from Gaza on 7 October. Israel retaliated with missile strikes and a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Egypt is ready to receive any number of Palestinian victims from the Gaza Strip, Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said Wednesday.
"We are ready to receive any number of Palestinian victims in accordance with orders of [Egyptian] President Abdel Fattah Sisi," Abdel Ghaffar told a joint news conference with his Turkish counterpart, Fahrettin Koca, in Cairo.
On October 27, Israel launched a large-scale ground incursion inside the Gaza Strip with the declared goal of eliminating Hamas fighters and rescuing the hostages. The escalation of the conflict has resulted in the deaths of around 1,200 people in Israel and over 11,500 in the Gaza Strip.

IDF Says Took Operational Control of Gaza Harbor Used by Hamas as Training Facility
The Israeli armed forces have taken operational control of the Gaza harbor that was used by Hamas as a training base for planning and executing naval terror attacks, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Thursday.
"In the past few days, in a joint operation, soldiers of the 188th Armored Brigade, and Flotilla 13 (“Shayetet 13”), took operational control of the Gaza harbor, which was controlled by the Hamas terrorist organization," the IDF wrote on Telegram, adding that the harbor was used by Hamas "as a training facility for their naval commando forces for planning and executing naval terror attacks."

Israeli Ambassador to UN Calls UNSC Resolution on Gaza 'Disconnected From Reality'
The Malta-drafted UN Security Council resolution on the situation in the Gaza Strip is disconnected from reality and meaningless, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan said on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the UN Security Council passed a resolution calling for "urgent and extended humanitarian pauses and corridors throughout the Gaza Strip" and the unconditional release of captives held by Hamas.
"The UN Security Council’s resolution is disconnected from reality and is meaningless. Regardless of what the Council decides, Israel will continue acting according to int’l law while the Hamas terrorists will not even read the resolution at all, let alone abide by it. It is unfortunate that the Council continues to ignore, not condemn, or even mention the massacre that Hamas carried out on October 7, which led to the war in Gaza. It is truly shameful!" Erdan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

IDF Declares 4-Hour Pause in Fighting in Areas of Northern Gaza, Calls for Evacuation
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Thursday once again announced a 4-hour pause in fighting in some areas of northern Gaza Strip, and called on residents to evacuate to the south of the enclave, spokesman Avichay Adraee said.
“Today we will implement a temporary tactical suspension of military activities during the day, in particular, from 10.00 [08:00 am GMT] to 14.00 [12:00 am GMT] for humanitarian purposes in the areas of Shejaiya and Turkaman. Use this time to get to Salah Al Deen road and head south," the spokesman wrote on X, adding that the IDF calls on residents of several areas of northern Gaza Strip to evacuate south before 16:00 pm local time.

Israeli airstrikes killed 11 people and injured dozens more in the Gaza Strip’s Nuseirat refugee camp on Thursday, Al Arabiya reported.
According to the broadcaster, Israeli artillery and helicopters also shelled neighborhoods east of Khan Yunis.
