Lebanese movement Hezbollah has reportedly been firing missiles into Israel since the war between Hamas and Israel broke out on 7 October.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its Aerial Defense Array intercepted a missile fired from Lebanon on an IDF drone.

"Following the initial report regarding sirens sounding in northern Israel, the IDF Aerial Defense Array successfully intercepted a surface-to-air missile launched from Lebanon toward an IDF UAV," the IDF said on Telegram.

On October 7, Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise large-scale rocket attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip and breached the border, killing and abducting people in neighboring Israeli communities. Israel launched retaliatory strikes and ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than 2 million people, cutting off supplies of water, food, and fuel. On October 27, Israel launched a large-scale ground incursion inside the Gaza Strip with the declared goal of eliminating Hamas fighters and rescuing the hostages.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that his government would push for an international investigation into Israel’s possible nuclear weapons capabilities in light of its threats against Gaza.
Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu was suspended earlier in November after suggesting that dropping a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip was a "viable option."
"Israel is not part of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and therefore it is not bound by its rules. But there is an option where member states can ask the International Atomic Energy Agency to create an inspection mechanism for the sake of nuclear security. We will mobilize this work right now," Erdogan said on a flight home from Berlin.
