India finished as the top team in the recently concluded the Asian Para Archery Championships in Bangkok with a total of nine medals including four gold, four silver and one bronze.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday heaped praise on the para archery team for achieving this “historic triumph” at the Asian Para Archery Championships in the Thai capital.
“A historic triumph at Para Asian Archery Championships in Bangkok! Congratulations to the phenomenal Indian Para Archery team for their splendid performance, etching their names in the history books,” Modi said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

He further said in his post that the contingent shines bright with their best ever performance at the Championships with a total of nine medals, including four Gold medals as well.
Complementing the athletes for their contribution, the Prime Minister said that may they keep making us proud always.
India finished the Asian event as the best team with four gold, four silver and one bronze while South Korea was at the second spot with a total of five medals including three gold, one silver and one bronze.
For India, Rakesh Kumar won three gold medals in three different events. Kumar clinched a gold medal in mixed team event with Sheetal Devi, another gold in men’s compound open team event with Suraj Singh and third gold in men’s compound open event.
The fourth gold for the country was bagged by Sheetal Devi and Jyoti Baliyan in women’s compound open team event.
Apart from this, India bagged four silver medals in women’s recurve open team event, men’s recurve doubles team event, men’s recurve W1 doubles team event and compound women open event.
The bronze medal for India was bagged by Sarita in women’s compound category.
