Some artificial intelligence systems created by Western developers brush aside or cancel Russian culture, President Vladimir Putin empahsised.
"It seems to me that you are fully aware of the selective and biased nature of certain Western search engines and generative models. They often fail to acknowledge, and at times even disregard, the significance of Russian culture," Putin said at a plenary session of the Al Journey conference.
Sberbank CEO Konstantin Kulikov showed Putin images created by Kandinsky, a Russian
neural network, and its foreign counterpart.
"In some aspects we surpass them. For example, in creating Russian content that is consistent with our cultural code. For example, they do a bad job of making a hut on chicken legs. We make it much better," the specialist told Putin.

New AI Development Strategy Soon to be Adopted in Russia
A new version of the strategy for the development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Russia will be approved in the near future, with a number of substantive changes made to the document, Putin said.
"In the near future, as one of the first steps, a presidential decree will be signed and a new version of the national strategy for the development of artificial intelligence will be approved. Given the swift progress of this technology, a number of significant changes will be made to the document. Its goals and objectives will be specified, first of all, in terms of expanding fundamental and applied research in the field of generative artificial intelligence and large language models," Putin said at the AI Journey 2023 international conference.
