India's Aditya-L1 Space Flight Enters Final Stage: ISRO Chief

The Indian Space Research Organistaion (ISRO) launched its first solar mission 'Aditya-L1' on September 2 to study the Sun.
The flight of the Aditya-L1 spacecraft, India's first mission to study the Sun, is entering its final stage. The device is likely to reach the Lagrange point L1, from which it will observe the Sun, by January 7, head of the ISRO space agency S. Somnath said on Saturday.
"Aditya is on the way. I think it has reached almost its final phase," Somnath told the Press Trust of India.
The first Indian automatic solar research station, Aditya-L1, was launched into Earth orbit on September 2. After almost three weeks, the device was transferred to the trajectory towards the Lagrange point L1, which is located 1.5 million km from Earth. The flight should take 125 days. The device has already begun collecting scientific data on the solar wind.
At the Lagrange point, the station will be able to remain motionless relative to the Earth and the Sun and freely observe the star, recording solar radiation.
