Many friendly countries are planning to buy the Akash missile system from India, as it has proven its ability to accurately hit enemy targets.
India's indigenously developed Akash missile system has attracted considerable interest from several countries, with many from Latin America, the Middle East and Africa keen to acquire it for their defence needs.
Armenia has reportedly already placed an order for the missile system and deliveries are expected to begin in the next few months.

Last week, the missile system's firepower was successfully demonstrated by the Indian Air Force (IAF) during an exercise called 'Astrashakti'.

Four unmanned aerial targets were engaged simultaneously and accurately hit by a single Akash missile system, they said, adding that the targets, travelling at high speed, came from the same direction in a close formation and split to attack from multiple directions simultaneously.
The Akash missile system was deployed with launchers carrying five armed missiles. The targets were successfully detected, tracked and destroyed.
According to the reports, India has become the first country to achieve this kind of simultaneous targeting at a range of about 30 km by a missile system under command guidance using a single firing unit.
The weapon system was developed by India's Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) and has been fielded by the IAF and the Indian Army.
