Russia to Gradually Usher 'BRICS Culture' Into Global Affairs: Lavrov to Sputnik

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed a wide range of international issues in an interview with Rossiya Segodnya and Rossiya 24 TV channel. Read Lavrov's main remarks.
Russia will introduce the BRICS culture into international affairs amid growing interest of nations around the world in joining the economic bloc, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Sputnik & Rossiya 24 TV on Thursday.
"We will gradually introduce the BRICS culture into world politics," the Russian FM said.
In July, the BRICS, an acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, expanded to a bloc of 11 countries. Argentina, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates will join the economic bloc on January 1, 2024.
US Is To Ensure Golden billion Around the Globe
Lavrov also exposed the US mentality, noting that Washington is interested in protecting the golden billion around the world.
"The goal of the United States is to protect the golden billion in the world. Only a serious internal American problem, a serious shock can bring them [the Americans] to their senses. As long as they have this infallibility, their superiority is overflowing," Lavrov said.
This sense of superiority is particularly evident in the actions of the democratic administration, in its desire to subjugate not only the whole world, but also its own country in violation of its own constitution, the minister said.

Ten days ago, a meeting on the peace plan for Ukraine was held in total secrecy, with the participation of Western countries and some countries of the Global South: "Those of our close allies who participated in this meeting, like-minded people, did not promise anyone to keep any secrets from us on any issue that has to do with Russia," Lavrov said.
The Western plan to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia has failed: "The West is really changing its tactics, maybe even thinking about clarifying its strategy. Because if 'strategic defeat of Russia' is a strategy, excuse the tautology, then this strategy has failed miserably," Lavrov noted.
The United States called Russia an enemy, if that is the case, then Moscow is ready for any developments: "And some even, like the US Secretary of Defense [Lloyd Austin], an official, called us an enemy, but if so, then we are ready for any development of events," Lavrov said.
