The Gujarat government has partnered with Mazagaon Dock shipbuilders to construct a submarine for underwater tourism to explore Dwarka city, known as the 'city of the Hindu God Lord Krishna'.The underwater experiences will take place in the pristine waters surrounding Bet Dwarka, a small island off the coast of existing Dwarka, and to the submerged lost city of Dwarka in the Arabian Sea.Saurabh Pardhi, the Managing Director of Gujarat Tourism, told Indian media that this project will be operational before Diwali in October 2024.The submarine for underwater tourism will weigh approximately 35 tonnes and can take 30 tourists down to 300 meters below the ocean accompanied by two skilled pilots and a professional crew.Numerous archaeological expeditions along the Indian coastline have uncovered a fortified city, pottery, sculptures, and artifacts, shedding light on the mystery of Dwarka's existence as a thriving city that was eventually submerged.

India is soon going to launch first-of-its-kind submarine tourism to explore the marvels of marine life in Gujarat's Dwarka, an ancient city believed to be lost underwater.
The Gujarat government has partnered with Mazagaon Dock shipbuilders to construct a submarine for underwater tourism to explore Dwarka city, known as the 'city of the Hindu God Lord Krishna'.
The underwater experiences will take place in the pristine waters surrounding Bet Dwarka, a small island off the coast of existing Dwarka, and to the submerged lost city of Dwarka in
the Arabian Sea.
Saurabh Pardhi, the Managing Director of Gujarat Tourism, told Indian media that this project will be operational before Diwali in October 2024.
He added that it has the potential to significantly enhance tourism in Dwarka, one of the prominent temple towns in the country that attracts a large number of people each day.
