Bollywood superstars Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, and several other celebrities have joined hands in solidarity with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in promoting Lakshadweep tourism amid the Maldives row.

The India-Maldives row intensified after Maldivian minister Abdulla Mahzoom Majid and other politicians from the ruling party, in a deleted post, claimed that PM Modi's recent visit to Lakshadweep was to promote domestic tourism and shift focus from the Maldives.

He also accused India of targeting the Maldives and said India faces significant challenges in competing with the Maldives in beach tourism.
Celebs shared the pristine beauty of Lakshadweep and appealed to netizens to explore Indian coastlines and islands like Lakshwadeep and Sindhudurg instead of the Maldives.
