Gujarat's Gandhinagar city is hosting the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investor Summit 2024, which is being held on 10-12 January. There are 34 partner countries and 16 partner organisations that are taking part in this year's edition.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, while inaugurating the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, said he guarantees that India will be among the three largest economies in the world in the next few years.

"Today, India is the fifth-largest economy in the world… All major agencies estimate that India will be among the top three economies in the world in the coming years. Let people across the world do their analysis, but I guarantee that it will happen", the prime minister said.

Numerous global business leaders, along with President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates, are participating in the event.
Modi also reiterated the government's commitment to transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, as the country celebrates its centenary of independence.

"In the recent past, India completed 75 years of independence. Now, India is working on its goal for the next 25 years. We have the goal of making it a developed country by the time it celebrates 100 years of independence. Therefore, these 25 years is India's Amrit Kaal", the prime minister said.

"Amrit Kaal" is a Hindi term that means "astrologically good time". The current government first used the term Amrit Kaal in October 2021, referring to the work that their government would do in the next 25 years.

The Vibrant Gujarat Summit is a brainchild of Narendra Modi; it started in 2003, when Modi was the state chief of Gujarat.
