18:31 15.01.2024 (Updated: 18:39 15.01.2024) Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the situation around Ukraine and other international issues in a telephone conversation.
Among other things, the leaders wished each other success in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections, the Kremlin reported.
"Vladimir Putin and Narendra Modi expressed interest in further enhancing mutually beneficial bilateral ties and wished each other success in the upcoming presidential elections in Russia and parliamentary elections in India," the statement said.
The leaders also underscored the success achieved in Russia-India cooperation in such areas as trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, energy, transport and logistics, cooperation in the Russian Far East.
