"Israel is seeking to address a labour shortage, exacerbated by the escalating conflict with Hamas, by attracting tens of thousands of Indians," Blomberg reported on Wednesday, citing Shai Pausner, the deputy director of the Israel Builders Association.
India would be one of the largest labour sources for Israel, Pausner said, explaining that his association had approached India "because of the decision to ban Palestinian workers from entering Israel" following the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

"Nothing could be more immoral and dehumanising than India sending construction workers to Israel," AR Sindhu, secretary of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), told Sputnik India ealier, when news of possible "exports of Indian workers" to Israel first emerged.
"Nothing could be more immoral and dehumanizing than this for India to send construction labor to Israel, said Sindhu, stressing that "as a trade union, we don't support the idea of replacing Palestinian workers with Indians."
