There are no problems with the supply of energy resources from Russia to India with settlements ongoing, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Saturday. As previously reported, Russia more than doubled oil supplies to India in April-September, which is the third largest importer and consumer of hydrocarbons in the world. During this period, the South Asian country imported an average 1.76 million barrels per day from the Russian Federation, which is more than double the volume of supplies for the same period last year. The share of Russian oil in Indian imports now reaches about 40%. India pays for part of its Russian oil supplies in rupees. Since 2022, Russia has become the biggest supplier of crude to both India and China, as Moscow diverts its energy supplies to the Asian economies in the wake of restrictions imposed by G7.
