The US, UK, and Canada are trying to use extremist elements to put pressure on India.
The first Sikh British parliamentarian, Preet Gill, has accused Delhi of targeting the Sikh community in the United Kingdom during a House of Commons session.
"In recent months, Five Eyes nations have raised concerns about the actions of agents with links to India targeting Sikh activists in the United Kingdom," Gill said on Monday.
The UK is part of the Five Eyes (FVEY) intelligence-sharing network, which also comprises Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the US.
Diplomatic Row Over Alleged Assassination Plot
Last year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau linked the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a pro-Khalistan extremist and a designated terrorist in India, to the Indian government "agents."
India denied any role in Nijjar's murder, underlining that Canada's accusations were "politically motivated".
In another incident, in November last year, US authorities charged an Indian man allegedly linked to a government official with
conspiring to murder US-Canadian citizen Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, also a designated terrorist in India.
At that time, India's foreign minister said that the issue was a "concern" and "against government policy".
