Voting in Russia's three-day presidential election began on Friday morning. For the first time, Russia's presidential elections are being held over three days and using remote electronic voting.
Russian presidential elections entered the second day on Saturday. The first day of voting was marked by a high turnout.
According to the monitoring portal, more than a million people took part in remote voting on the first day on Russia's federal online platform.
Four candidates were registered by the Russian Central Election Commission - self-nominated candidate Vladimir Putin, Liberal Democratic Party of Russia candidate Leonid Slutsky, New People's Party candidate Vladislav Davankov and Russian Communist Party candidate Nikolai Kharitonov.
According to the latest data from the Central Election Commission of Russia, the overall turnout in person is 36.12%, and in a number of regions, including the DPR, the Kherson region and Chukotka, it exceeds 60%. Russians have also been active in electronic voting. By late Friday evening, more than 3.5 million ballots had been cast on the federal remote electronic voting platform, with 4.76 million registered participants, representing a turnout of 74%.
Observers, both foreign and Russian, reported no serious violations. Indian election observer Purnima Anand on Friday praised the organisation of the election process in Russia.
“The whole election process is very conveniently organized, and we saw the equipment, everything can be seen on the screens and the whole process of organizing the elections is very impressive,” Purnima Anand told reporters on Friday.

Russia Knew West Would Try to Disrupt Online Voting in Election Abroad - Foreign Ministry
Moscow knew from the beginning that the West would attempt to hinder online voting in the Russian presidential election abroad, so it was decided to launch an in-person format there, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Saturday.
"When they [Russia's Central Election Commission] calculated all the risks based on the available data, they realized exactly what would be done if there was a possibility of online voting from abroad. Westerners will do everything: DDOS attacks, cyber blockades, communication breakdowns to disrupt this voting ... That's why it was decided several months ago to organize in-person voting," Zakharova said.
